 An agent gets through interact with environment ,agent perceive its state of an environment through its sensors and it can affect its state through its actuators.

Now,the big question is how the perception change in to action?

This occurs with the help of Control policy of an Agent

What is agent function?
An agent function is a function which transforms Perception into Action
f[P-->A]

So,the agent perceives the information from an environment through sensors, take decision and affect the state through actuators,it is loop process happens again and again .This cycle is referred as Perception Act Cycle.  

  
Agent’s structure can be viewed as

• Agent = Architecture + Agent Program
• Architecture = the machinery that an agent executes on.
• Agent Program = an implementation of an agent function.
